Located in Cass County, the city of Reile’s Acres is a suburb of Fargo and home to 513 residents. The city was founded in 1977 with a population of 147. Reile’s Acres is named after Reinhold Reile who owned a farmstead on the site of the new city. The city was incorporated because the Township Board could no longer afford to maintain the roads. Incorporation provided state and federal money to take care of the road maintenance.
Reile’s Acres is located only a mile north of Fargo, so residents make the short drive to Fargo for shopping and dining. In North Fargo there’s a great selection of shopping and dining choices such as the Moorhead Center Mall and various stores in downtown Fargo. There’s also a fine array of dining choices near Reile’s Acres that offer Italian, Indian, Mexican, and many other choices.
As of 2010 there were 513 residents living in the city. There were 72 households with a median age of 34. As of 2015 there was an estimated 596 residents. There are no commercial enterprises within Reile’s Acres, so workers commute to Fargo or beyond.
There are two city parks in Reile’s Acres that offer playgrounds, picnic areas, tennis courts, an ice skating rink, and baseball diamonds, among other amenities. The city office is also located at the park shelter and houses the city commission meetings.
